Dec 3-5, 2026 @ 8:00 PM

Miriam Green Theatre
Meridian Arts Centre, North York

A contemporary dance production inspired by the testimony of NOVA survivor Tal Fridman, NOVA: After The Music transforms one deeply personal account of October 7 into movement, music, and memory.

Through original choreography, an original musical score, and Tal’s own words, NOVA: After The Music explores the human experience behind a day that changed countless lives. Directed by Eyal Stopnicki and choreographed by Hailey Gardiner, the production is an act of remembrance, preserving one survivor’s voice while asking what it means to carry memory forward after the music has stopped.

SYNOPSIS IN 30 SECONDS

NOVA: After The Music follows survivor Tal Fridman through the events of October 7, from the joy of the festival to a desperate fight for survival. Told through dance, music, and Tal’s own words, the production is a story of courage, loss, memory, and survival.

MEET TAL FRIDMAN

"My name is Tal Fridman, and I'm 26 years old from Israel. I am currently in my final year of my software engineering degree. I have a very strong affinity for technology in all its fields and a deep passion for computers, which is exactly why I chose to study this subject.

Outside of my studies, I love the outdoors, and I also really enjoy cooking. I appreciate everything from relaxing by the sea or finding quiet moments in the kitchen to taking on extreme high-altitude hikes with breathtaking views.

I have been in a relationship for seven years, and the most important things in my life are my family, my close friends, and finding inner peace.

The need for mental tranquility has become especially critical for me since the terrible events of October 7th, 2023. Since that day, my mind hasn't truly found its quiet, as I am constantly dealing with restless thoughts and endless noise."

Tal’s story is one of hundreds carried by those who were at the Nova Festival and by countless others whose lives changed on October 7th. Until now, his story has remained largely within the walls of his family and closest circle.

For the first time, he is allowing that story to be shared.

That carries a responsibility. To listen. To witness. To resist allowing these experiences to become distant headlines or statistics. Behind every story is a person, a family, a life interrupted, and a memory that continues long after the world moves on.

NOVA: After The Music asks us not only to hear Tal’s words but also to step closer to them, to feel the humanity within them and to remember that these stories are not as distant from us as they may sometimes seem.

This is more than a story being told. It is a story being entrusted to us.
