Ytai Udokang
Director of Operations
Ytai is someone who believes strongly in change and in making a real difference through what truly matters. Music has always been a central part of his life and the way he understands the world around him. He grew up classically trained on the violin and viola while also exploring jazz through the saxophone. As a young student, he attended an enriched music program that challenged him both technically and creatively and later had the opportunity to perform as a violist with the Toronto Symphony Youth Orchestra. These experiences shaped not only his musicianship but also his appreciation for discipline, collaboration, and storytelling through sound.
Over the years, his relationship with music has taken many forms. From informal jam sessions at open mics to performing side-by-side with members of the Toronto Symphony Orchestra, he has witnessed firsthand how music can connect people across backgrounds and generations. He understands that music carries memory, emotion, and meaning in ways that words alone often cannot. That conviction is what drew him so strongly to this organization and its mission. He believes deeply in using music as a vehicle for remembrance, education, and cultural responsibility.

Alongside his artistic background, he is currently a psychology student with experience in project management and organizational work. He sought to bring that skill set into a space where it could have genuine impact. Being part of this organization allows him to contribute in a way that aligns with both his academic interests and his values, particularly in supporting efforts to advance Holocaust education and awareness. For him, this work is not simply about production or performance, but about ensuring that important stories are preserved, honored, and meaningfully shared.
