2025/2026
Events
This season, Jewish Voices in Music is proud to present a year of programming that centers Jewish storytelling, education, and community impact through the power of live performance.

In 2025–2026, we are bringing a powerful new opera to Canada: Two Remain by Jake Heggie. Built from the real words and testimonies of Holocaust survivors, this work is an urgent act of remembrance—preserving history with emotional honesty and ensuring these voices are not lost to time. In a moment when antisemitism and Holocaust distortion are rising, we believe it is more important than ever to keep these stories alive, present, and impossible to ignore.

Alongside this production, we are honoured to welcome internationally acclaimed soprano Sharon Rostorf-Zamir for her first visit to Canada. Sharon will lead an open masterclass designed to support emerging artists and inspire our wider community. By keeping this event accessible, we are creating an opportunity for anyone to participate and learn, regardless of financial barriers.

Through performance and education, our 2025–2026 season reflects our commitment to truth, resilience, and the enduring strength of Jewish voices.
Two Remain: An Opera about Remembrance
Two Remain: Out of Darkness is a powerful two-act opera by Jake Heggie that brings Holocaust testimony to the stage through music of extraordinary emotional depth. Built from the real words of survivors, the work tells two unforgettable stories of identity, love, and endurance in the face of unimaginable darkness.
